Senator Reiters
District 53 is comprised of 73,384 constituents. She represents the
cities of Blaine, Circle Pines, Lexington, Lino Lakes, North Oaks,
Shoreview, White Bear Lake and White Bear Township. Senator Reiter
came to the Minnesota Senate from the Shoreview City Council, having
served five years as a City Council Member from 1996-2001.
With a long
record of community service, Senator Reiter has been a member of the
Minnesota Board on Aging from 1992-1996, and was the Police
Commission chair for the Centennial Lakes Police Department from 1998
2001. She is a Major in the Civil Air Patrol. She is a current
Board Member of the Quad Area Chamber of Commerce and a member of the
White Bear Chamber, as well as a Life Member of both the VFW and
American Legion Auxiliaries. She is very proud of a 2004 American
Legion Americanism Award and the VFW Auxiliarys 2006 Legislator of
the Year Award.
Awards of
excellence have also been presented to her by the Minnesota Chamber of
Commerce, the Minnesota Retailers Association, National Federation of
Independent Business, Taxpayers League of Minnesota, and many other
business, civic and advocacy awards.
Her hobbies
include golf, travel and reading. She is a Muskies Inc. Life member
and a Ducks Unlimited Sponsor.
